2022-2023 Fall Football 2nd Quarter 35-8 (L) Orangeburg-Wilkinson vs. South Florence Both teams came out to play. But only one came out with a victory. South Florence played a good game. The South Florence Head Coach, Drew Marlowe, came out swinging and he didn't stop until the clock hit zero. That was a true display of hard-nosed football. Drew Marlowe became South Florence's head football coach in 2020. South Florence Football Coach Drew Marlowe was named the ABC End Zone Coach of the Year in 2021. With that being said, Orangeburg Wilkinson had a few key plays that they should have capitalized on. Because every time they didn't, South Florence made them pay, and boy did they pay big. Hopefully, Coach Chris Carter, the school's new head football coach, will come up with some new strategies to move his team ahead. It's still early in the season and anything could happen. Coach Carter has more than 20 years of coaching experience. So I'm pretty sure he and that great group of guys he has over there will be able to remedy the problem.
